Chiefs find solution to leaky defence
After conceding 30-plus goals each season for the past three league campaigns, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen believes the team has discovered a formula to remedy the unwanted record.
Last season, Chiefs conceded 32 goals, the previous year 30, and 33 in the 2022/23 campaign.
This was by far the worst period for Amakhosi, compared to when they let in 26 goals four years ago.
On a rare occasion when Chiefs finished a league match without conceding, Petersen kept a clean sheet in the team's 2-0 win over Stellenbosch FC at the weekend.
Another clean sheet?
The 30-year-old and his teammates are hoping to maintain the momentum when Chiefs host Polokwane City in their Betway Premiership fixture at FNB Stadium on Wednesday night.
The game kicks off at 7.30pm.
In response to a City Press question during a Chiefs media event at the club's headquarters in Naturena on Tuesday, Petersen shared what the team's defensive unit has been up to during the preparation.
